Saving & Cost-Cutting Tips
Keeping money in your pockets
Destination Wedding –
Many Airlines offer discounts to wedding parties of 10 or
more, such as American, Hawaiian Airlines, US Airways, and
Northwest. They may even offer "first-class upgrades"
for the bride and groom.·
Serving Alcohol? –
There are venues that allow you to bring in your own alcohol.
Whether it is the wine, champagne or Spirits. Many may ask
for a corkage fee. Even at that, you still may be able to
keep a few bucks in your pocket if you find your favorite
beverage at a great discount price. Take a trip to the Club
Warehouse or any discount alcohol vendor when they are having
a sale and stock up.
Flowers -
If you order flowers for your ceremony, consider arrangements
that can be used at the reception site as well. Designate
a family member or friend to transport them to the reception
site. Your banquet manager will normally assist in setting
them in prearranged locations.
Wedding Cake - If you decide
to order more than one flavor, make sure the banquet servers
are aware of this. So that they will cut into more than one
layer at a time and allow for choice. Make sure that they
don’t offer guest more than one Slice. Guest get very
excited about cake and may want a slice of both, which may
cause a problem if you don’t have enough to get around
to your entire guest.
Wedding Album -
If you are a do-it-yourself kind of person - Find a
photographer that offers a package that includes a set of
proofs of your wedding day and negatives to keep. This way
you can put together your own wedding album. You can purchase
very nice wedding albums at most photography stores and you
can order reprints as well. By having the negatives will allow
you more control when ordering reprints. This can save you
a lot of money and will allow you to afford to put together
a photo album for the parents or someone special to you.
